I've heard of some stories that the ranger axle will break. In all the stories i've heard it always the passenger axle that snaps.
Maybe because it was on the drivers side in the ranger then there you swap it to the passenger side in the mustangs. I don't know maybe it's all stories Aug 3, Messages: If your going with a 17x8 cobra wheel such as on a 98 cobra, my brother runs that and his wheels are dead on with the fender lip and don't rub.
The only thing that is wider on that assembly are the axles, the housing, and internals are all the same.
So for piece of mind you could get better aftermarket axles. And I love them.
YOU build it, WE smoke it! Does it have to be 2WD or 4WD? So if you get a flat on the rear, you can just change the tire with the spare. I have one from each. You'll also need to upgrade the stock master cylinder stock bore size:
